Tazz & WWE part ways?

According to PWI:

Longtime WWE color commentator Tazz finished up with the company last night after calling the matches for this Friday's edition of SmackDown.

The former ECW Heavyweight Champion is now officially done with the company as his contract expires today.

Something doesn't seem right here.....red herring??

Tazz is really good as an announcer.

I’ll miss Tazz as an announcer. And even more so as the co-host of the old ECW TV shows on 24/7. I’m hoping him and Styles filmed like the entirety of those openings long ago and this won’t affect that.

Wonder where Tazz goes from here. TNA? He can’t wrestle anymore, though I would be all for him either joining West and Tenay or replacing West on the announce team. Can’t see him going to ROH, what would he do there?

I read on the fight network that TNA was supposedly in contract talks with a former world champ, Tazz popped into my head immediatatly, but like you said he's done in the ring, so other than the fact that he's one of my all time favorites, I don't what he'd add down there.
